Color Profiles

Art Leather now offers color profiles for our Print & Bind service.  These profiles can be used in conjunction with a calibrated monitor* for obtaining more accurate colors in your album prints. A color profile defines a color space, or the range of colors that your monitor can display and that our printers can print.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Your monitor must be properly calibrated for these profiles to be effective. Proofing your images with these profiles on an uncalibrated monitor could produce worse results than if you hadn't proofed them at all. We recommend calibrating your monitor with a hardware-based calibration tool before using our profiles. It is also recommended that you frequently re-calibrate your monitor to ensure consistently accurate results.

Download the Color Profiles

(If given the option to either "Open" or "Save" the file, choose Save.)

How to Install the Color Profiles

In Windows 2000 or XP: First extract the .icm file from the .zip file. Then right-click on the .icm file and choose Install Profile (it should be the first option). To confirm that the profile has been installed properly, right-click on the .icm file again and make sure the first option is now Uninstall Profile, then press the Escape key on your keyboard to exit the menu. You may need to exit and re-launch your image processing application for the new profile to become available.

In Windows Vista: First extract the .icm file from the .zip file. Then Open Color Management by clicking the Start button, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, and then Color Management. Click the All Profiles tab, and then click Add. Locate and select one of the color profile .icm files, and then click Add. You may need to exit and re-launch your image processing application for the new profile to become available.

In Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard: Extract the .icm file from the .zip file, then move the .icm file into this folder: MacintoshHD/Library/ColorSync/Profiles. You may need to quit and re-launch your image processing application for the new profile to become available.

In Mac OS X 10.3 Panther or 10.4 Tiger: Extract the .icm file from the .zip file, then move the .icm file into this folder: MacintoshHD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles. You may need to quit and re-launch your image processing application for the new profile to become available.
